Kofi C Osafo

Born in Ghana, now residing in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. Married and a father of three. A Christian songwriter and a guitarist. I made songs out of situations but did not realise the gift I had until I became a serious Christian. I started writing them down from February 1988. 

In Ghana, between 1990 and 1998 I played for the "New Creations" in Kumasi (A Christian group that performed musical and drama concerts to the Christian public and also in schools and colleges. My family relocated to Nkawkaw and over there I noticed that majority of the churches had instruments but did not have players. I started teaching guitar and keyboard lessons, out of which I wrote a book "Guitar Playing Made Simple" 2003. This was before internet took over.

I usually get my songs while praying and I forget them not long after. I have lost many songs because I failed to write them down immediately. Of late I use my mobile phone when it is possible to record them. I have written over 800 Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual songs for praise and worship. However, it was not until recently that I have been able to start recording them on CDs.

I must confess that most of my songs have a Ghanaian flavour. One American fan of mine described my music as "Infectious rhythms and God centred lyrics". I do not sing myself most times. I always look for the right voices for each song just to give my listeners the best quality. I am not well known mainly because I do not perform concerts. You can mainly get to hear my songs when you search the music sites for “Edifying Songs Series” or simply type my name Kofi C Osafo in most cases.
